100% merino wool. Some call this a fisherman sweater and some call it an Aran sweater, taking its name from the rugged Aran Islands off the west coast of Ireland where fisherman would have worn this sweater to keep out the cold and wet whilst at sea. Each stitch has a different meaning. The honeycomb pattern through the centre of the garment represents the hard-working bee and promises a reward for honest labour. The basket stitch along the sleeves represents the fisherman's basket and hope of abundant catches.
